The Old Spanish Trail Festival in Crestview is just around the corner and it is once again time to celebrate the area’s unique cultural history. The celebration begins on the last weekend of April and ends the first weekend of May.

Festivities include an arts and crafts bazaar, food vendors, beauty pageant, carnival rides, a parade and nationally recognized musicians. The majority of the activities take place in the Spanish Trail Park.

The name Old Spanish Trail refers to a trade route used by the three European countries that settled the area, namely England, Spain and France. The route ran from El Paso, Texas all the way to Jacksonville, Fla. It was the I-10 of its day.

Get ready Crestview and history buffs, and anyone else who wishes to have a wonderful family-friendly time; the Old Spanish Trail Festival is coming soon, so make your plans to attend now.
